Will keep a watch out in the local stores here - unfortunately their SF section isn't great. But YA's very good, so there's a chance.
There is something very cool about the idea of buying books by members of my flist on the other side of the world (I'm in Taiwan). Though I think so far it's only been sartorias, if I don't count books ordered from Amazon US or UK.
I'll be pre-ordering that as soon as my next Amazon voucher comes along, then! Also I'll ask TPTB if I can review it for The Bookbag (http://www.thebookbag.co.uk)
Oh, man, this is fantastic. Can't wait till it's on amazon.com and I can preorder the several copies I'm planning to buy. (I can't wait to show off your mad skills to my friends-and-relations.)
So happy for you RJ. Seems like ages since you started and now its a reality. If I can figure out how to pre-order from the UK, I'll do so. I've been out of touch with LJ lately so excuse me if the question is lame/already answered. Your LJ icon of knife has softened up a bit. Is this the image that will be used for the book. I'm so used to seeing the harsher/blonder version of Knife that this image caught my attention immediately. Not saying its bad or anything, just curious mostly.
Nope, the new logo has nothing to do with the cover art, for either the US or the UK. I just made it myself a few weeks ago, when I found a picture of a girl who reminded me a bit of Knife. As for what will actually end up on the cover, I don't yet know much more than you do! I've seen a rough idea from the UK side, but nothing final as yet; and the US is still working on it.
Yay! Is the Canadian release date the same as the American, or earlier? I'm five minutes from the flagship store of McNally Robinson (http://www.mcnallyrobinson.com/about), and will pester them on your behalf. They love to promote Canadian authors, and have a significant childrens/YA section and fantasy section.
