Quick, Doctor Who fans, what's wrong with this picture?

(And no, it's not that the Doctor isn't wearing a hat and/or a visibly quirky costume, although I am sure there have been any number of fannish meltdowns over this since the first promo pics of the new series were released... I really can't get worked up about it myself, though.)

Of course, cross-referencing another discussion (http://www.livejournal.com/users/pbristow/135299.html), he may just be confused about comparisons between the latter seasons of the original show and pantomime, and how exactly that thigh-slapping thing is supposed to work... =:o}
