I think you ought to know that thanks to your clever, information-dense, and wholly absorbing new web site, my poor children's lunch has been ruined.

I did not think it was possible to spoil Kraft Dinner, but apparently not even industrial-strength prefab macaroni can survive being forgotten and left on the stove at a rolling boil for twenty minutes. The pasta is now the consistency of oatmeal, and even after the optimistic addition of butter, milk and the legendary cheese powder, remains quite, quite disgusting.

I want you to know that this is all your fault. Or ALL YOUR FAULT, as Book 5 Harry might say.

It's just a good thing my kids didn't notice, and ate the Kraft Dinner anyway...

*hee*

Did you find the spoiler about a certain redhead's real Christian (so to speak) name?

I imagine much gnashing of teeth among certain contingents.

I always thought it was Genevieve, so I'm gratified to know I wasn't too far off.

Apparently Ginevra is a variant of Guinevere. Iiiiinteresting...!

Ginevra!!!!****

Pardon while I collect my jaw and eyes from off the floor. I'm about halfway through Charlotte Bronte's _Villette_. In which there is a secondary character named Ginevra. How Unusual, I thought, Rowling probably picked up this odd name from reading this same book. I went offline and went back to my novel, and was arrested by the description of a black-clad Professor's sudden entrance, and swoop to the front of the classroom. Hmm, I've seen that move before...come, to think of it this M. Emanuel is pretty snarky...wait um, sneering--hold on, flip, flip...sallow...nose certainly not small...curling lip, exacting...sees into other's thoughts and secrets!!! Suddenly appears behind people with no sound of approach!!! This begins to look like a plot. Or at least a character.

You will be charmed to also hear that this alarming raven of ego and _irrite'_ is the unlikely love interest of our fierce and independent yet private heroine. She sees past the forbidding and uncouth exterior to the honor and self-sacrifice within.

Looks like Maud was reading the wrong Bronte, eh?

Ok, hands up, who had this all figured out already and didn't tell me?

Seriously, this kind of literary chain-shot just MAKES MY DAY!

Hoo, hoo, hoo hoo hoo.

I'm sorry I didn't respond to this before, because I have been merrily sharing it with everybody I know for the past three days...

So. Awesome. I must read this book!

You have made me very happy. Because there is no doubt in my mind that JKR has read this. Given her reading tastes, and how close the similarities are between the characters, it has to be a conscious choice on her part. Whoop!

I haven't done more than look at the entry screen, since I really must get other things done today, but I read Leaky's tidbits, and I am tickled that JKR says she used "Squidward" as a chatroom name.

And Ginevra is really quite pretty (though not, perhaps, with Weasley). Though after I went to all that effort to get every Weasley brother's name, and in fact Arthur and Molly, into TFT, I am not likely to include a Ginevra, or to change Olivia's middle name from Virginia. :)

And I may never eat Kraft Dinner again. Yuck.

I could have told you it was possible to screw up Kraft Dinner. I've done it enough. I can also mess up instant ramen. It's a talent.

Ginny's name? I'll have to tell [livejournal.com profile] serendip. I think that's what she used.

Have had much fun at that site today. Thanks for the link. Did you find anything for your scrapbook? I found 3 things. Quite fun!

Help a poor brainless person (me):

I'm only seeing links to all of the publishing houses' HP sites. Is there something I'm missing?

Try www.jkrowling.net -- I got the publisher's list at first, too, and had to make it .net to get to the site.

I've not found any of the easter eggs yet, but it is certainly fun to go through!

Hee. I was just about to post about this fun new toy but you beat me to it. I should be studying for finals anyway.

Anyone else dying to know what's behind the locked door?

Yes!!!

I was hoping that by picking up all the potion ingredients, I'd unlock the door. So far, no dice.

You might want to hang around the door for awhile. Someone might make a brief appearence. *whistles innocently*

How much fun is that site? I spent too much time trying to use the cell phone and turning on and off the desk lamp. And using the eraser over the blank sheet in the extra stuff board produces what looks like a recipe for a potion. hmmm....

When I was a kid, the mac n' cheese could've been a solid mass o cheese flavored glop and I would've eaten it anyway. It's all about the Kraft, baby. I lurved me some mac n' cheese. It's still a comfort food when I've been feeling poorly. Nothing like artificial ingredients smeared over carbs... Takes me right back to the days of Wonder bread and Skippy creamy pb.

I noticed that Snape didn't rate a mention. Meaning that his complete life story must be relevant to future books.

Or so I choose to believe.

Found the Easter Egg! (spoiler warning!) If you collect four special items (the eraser provides the clue), you get to see something extra. That was neat, and somewhat rewarding.

Now, is there actually something behind the door, or am I just waiting for Peeves' entrance?
