...and it looks like the book formerly known as Touching Indigo will be known henceforth, in both its UK (Orchard Books, Summer 2011) and its US (Carolrhoda Lab, Fall 2011) editions, as...

Ultraviolet.
I'm still getting used to it, but I think that my editors are right in saying that this is a more dynamic title which will have broader appeal, and also makes sense within the context of the book.
And just WAIT until you see the UK cover. They're still working on the design and copy and it'll be a while before I have anything final to post, but the sample I've seen is really beautiful and I'm very excited about it!

Date: 2010-07-27 06:25 pm (UTC)Yes, I can see it actually! I think "Touching Indigo" might be more meaningful if you've read it, but Ultraviolet is more likely to be picked up by people who aren't counting the days till it's out, so all good. Can't wait to see the cover!

Date: 2010-07-27 11:08 pm (UTC)Also, I just wanted to say that I guess it is kind of neat about your title. Personally, I liked "Touch Indigo" as a title better, but I haven't read the book yet, so maybe "Ultraviolet" is the title that the book should really be. Guess I'll never really know until I read it though, huh. Can't wait.

Specifically, it will very much need to not have Mila Jovovich and/or nonsensical shiny things on it (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1945473536/tt0370032). :) (Although frankly, if you cut it down to 'doesn't have anyone with that anatomy on it' I would not be upset.)

(is very impatient to read it)

Glad you liked the review, btw! Am probably going to crosspost to my blogs.
