Things are gearing up for the North American release of Wayfarer, and I am doing interviews and guest posts for a number of blogs in the next few weeks. Here are a couple of recent ones:
And in just a couple of weeks, I'll be having my official launch and signing for Wayfarer:

WHERE: Fundamentals Books & Toys (52 Ontario Street, Stratford, Ontario, Canada)
WHEN: Saturday, June 26th from 1-3 p.m.

Wayfarer Launch Poster

I hope to see some of you there!

But for those of you who cannot make it to southwestern Ontario on two weeks' notice, I am offering a signed and personalized hardcover of Wayfarer to some lucky commenter on this post! All you have to do is tell me why you want it. Contest open to Canada and the U.S. only.

ETA: It would be nice to give a contest close-by date, wouldn't it? Let's keep it open for a week, so you have until Sunday, June 20th to enter.

OMG. \o/ I am so excited for this book. [squealy noises]

Um... I want it because I might pass out from joy to have it next to my other copies, and so I can satisfy my burning need to find out where you go with the story. [Also because winning NEVER gets old.] I'm also dying of curiosity about whether you used any of those crazy suggestions I made when you were writing. ;)

Outside of my frantic need for your book: CONGRATS BB! You definitely deserve to be on shelves everywhere. <3

But you have already read it! It is the same book as Rebel, just the North American edition. :D

Thank you for the lovely words, though! And the book you really want (i.e. Arrow) will be out in the UK in January...

LOL OK THEN. The various titles confuse me! I knew the next one was due out soon [and since I'm basically on the UK schedule, I didn't realize which was which.] and I wanted in on that action.

[I still wouldn't say no, though. XD]

Man, I need to get my hands on Arrow with a matching cover set. I am obsessive about that.

Oooh pretty poster. I can't wait to get my copy of Wayfarer. I loved Knife (which is how I think of it because I got used to you calling it that before it got renamed for the US, plus I think it's a better title) so I've been excited for Wayfarer ever since I finished Knife.

Don't enter me, 'cause I pre-ordered it! Can't wait. :D

Why do I want it?

I would like a copy of Wayfarer because both I and my children loved Knife, and because at last I am seeing "R.J." get the success I always knew she would have.

Why do I want it? Are you kidding! Because I am dying to read more about Knife and Paul, of course!

(and I will, since I'm buying it for the library, but I'd really love a signed copy. :))

I want it because otherwise I'll have to buy a UK edition when I'm over there in a couple of weeks, and it'll be hard enough as it is to fit books into my suitcase.

I imagine I'll survive either way, and I'm looking forward to it very much. :)

so many reasons...

Why do I want it? Because Faery Rebels was the first book my daughters and I read together as a family.
Because they can't wait to get their hands on the sequel and find out what happens to Linden (we've read the intro chapters on the website)
Because four years ago I stumbled upon some fantastic fan-fic by an as yet unpublished Rebecca Anderson---and thought-- "Some publishing company just better discover her soon!"
And after reading her writing (over and over, I'll admit) was inspired to try a little scribbling of my own...
Sappy-- but true.

Have a fun launch! I keep watching for when this comes out.

Why would I like a copy? Because in the week before leaving on a complicated cross country move, my girls followed me all over the house with Spellhunter, practically beating me over the head to read it to them. Which I plan to do whenever we get to the other side and find where we packed it. And because I read the first however many chapters at the publisher web site and am dying to read the rest!

OMG, I can't wait for this to happen! I've been wanting to read your books ever since I first found out about them... the only problem is, I can't find any of them in the bookstores around here. It's enough to drive a person crazy! But I love books with fairies in them... almost anything to do with fairies! I'm even writing a book with fairies, although it isn't done yet... I can't wait for this book to come out. Congrats! And good luck on your tour and booksigning! :)

Hello Ms. Anderson! :)

My name is Elizabeth, and I'm from Maryland. I first came to know you when I read your Harry Potter fan fiction "The Darkness and Light Trilogy" back in 2002-2003 because I too was a huge Snape fan. I was always very captivated by your writing (The Thing with Feathers still resonates with me today), and must have devoured all of your HP Fan-fic. Ever since then I have been following your blog (back when it was still on Blogger) and this journal on and off. I thought of you recently, and I stumbled upon this post and saw that you are now a published author! I just wanted to take this moment to congratulate you on your tremendous success. I remember distinctly reading about your past struggles with the road to publication on the old Blogger, and I'm just so happy for you that something you have worked so hard for over the years finally became a reality. No one is more deserving of this success. I haven't read Knife yet, but once I have more free time, I most certainly will. And I shall look forward to reading Wayfarer as well. Congratulations again.

Ouch! I am commenter #13. What luck! I wish I could travel to Canada, but alas, I am completely broke. I will visit Ontario someday (I hope).

I want a copy of Wayfarer because I want to read more about Knife and this book would be a perfect addition to my classroom library. I pinky swear I will place the copy on my classroom shelves when I am finished reading! :D

Thanks so much for hosting a contest! Good luck with the launch party! I hope you have lots of attendees!

I pre-ordered my copy of Rebel, and it was fantastic and completely amazing and so I must step aside and let someone else fall under your spell! (: But I just wanted to mention something small, the extra scrolling thing in the layout of your blog makes it sort of hard to access your blog site by mobile (or maybe just the Safari browser). I mean there's definitely ways of getting around it and I love the scrolly bar in Internet Explorer! It's really pretty and brown! But I thought I should mention it just in case some other people have been experiencing difficulties and I feel really awkward like a person at a party who has to tell me I have spinach in my teeth BUT anyway it's a really minor thing and I love your layout. It's just a minor niggly thing. I hope you're not offended!

I can't wait for Arrow!! Oh my gosh I love the Aussie editions. I know they're technically UK editions but... I totally get a kick seeing them on shelves here.

I apologize for the layout difficulties -- my web designer is looking into them. No need to feel badly about letting me know, I'm glad you did!

In the meantime, however, you might try some of the suggestions on this FAQ page (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=259) for viewing LiveJournals on mobile? Sounds like they have an entry page specifically set up to solve these kinds of problems for mobile users...

And thank you so much for the lovely enthusiastic words about REBEL and looking forward to ARROW!

I love a good story. And Knife was a great story. Like mary_j_59 I will be buying it for the library, but I love having signed copies, especially from writers I know. Well, I only know you online so far, but one of these days...

I am going to write you a sonnet about why I should win (which may be difficult given that I just concluded a lengthy IM conversation in trochaic tetrameter).

I hope this A for Effort thing will work
Because I really, really want the book
And though this post may like a sonnet look
It's "literary merit" makes you smirk
I recently was browsing 'bout the shelves
To find a book to borrow and to read
'Cause at my job a book is what you need
To keep from going nuts and seeing elves
(Though seeing elves might yet be rather fun)
In any case, I saw before me Knife
And squealed as I had not in all my life
And then began to read it at a run
And so I really hope that I will win
So I can learn what trouble she gets in

Pretty please? With kittens on top?

I wonder who will win. Snce I have already read Rebel I don't have to worry about fighting off the many other of your fans! It was a great book and I have managed to convince a few people to read it, though one was pretty much a last minute save for forgetting a book but now their begging me to tell them what happens. Shows you that the symphony of words written in this book are wonderful!

Man, I wish I was going to Canada this weekend !

But unfortunetly, I am not. Why? Because I'm 14 and incapable of traveling by myself and I have to study by butt off for Finals. I get out on the 23rd so every school day is agonizing. I get through by reading through the boring parts.

Why do I want it? Well, I want it because I'm selfish. Which is bad because I wish I had it instead of letting someone else have it. But what can I do? I know, I could be a good person by not entering, but that's just soooo hard...

The reason I really want this book is because for the past month I've been looking at a bunch of book reviewers and stuff. This cover kept popping up often enough to make me realize how nice the cover was. Then I went to go and check out the summary and I was instantly drawn in. The book sounds really good. Like, amazing-good. I've read enough books about fairies, and I love them. I would love to read your story !

Oh yeah. I also have never heard the name Linden before. I would love to read the story of a girl named Linden!

Thanks for this awesome contest ! I hope you have a pretty awesome book signing :D

I'd love to have an Auto-G'd Copy of your book... But likely I have to settle for one from this side of the thin line of reality, if I win I promise to place it on the Good Shelf, as far away from my Evil dark books as possible. Until then, I'll just have to visualize good thoughts, about your side of the wavering line. DoctorSlime Slime@delta.edu
