Right now the lovely and generous
writerjenn is running a contest giveaway for a $25 gift card to Powell's Bookstore (yes, they're based in Oregon, but you can order from them online or if you prefer, you can request a gift card from your local indie bookseller if they offer such things).
It's all happening at the Feast of Awesome a.k.a.
debut2009, and if you post an entry about the giveaway on your blog and/or sign up to become a watcher of the
debut2009 community (or already are a watcher), you get an extra entry to the contest!
Getcher free books, right here!
I'm not eligible to enter myself, but I'd love to see one of my friends win, so mosey on over and check it out!*
And then since we're talking about books, you can go enjoy
lizbee's post about how she just discovered Megan Whalen Turner's Attolia books and is now completely obsessed with them. I knew she would be. I just knew it. *glee*

Date: 2008-12-08 03:18 pm (UTC)In any case, it is enthralling...will take awhile to get through but there is so much information in there that I haven't encountered in all my 'Shakespeare' books...that I am dazzled.
The Attolia books have long been on a list of check-these-out...smile. Maybe I should move that forward as I ended up wallbanging a book this weekend (not because I didn't like it) but because I fell for a repackaging-reprint of a Patricia Briggs book. Dammit. Was partway into the first chapter, frowned, looked at the original pub date, and SNARLED. NOT COOL. (But, I'd given away my previous copy, so I will just keep this--it is a good book, so may reread it someday).
