I've been having problems with my DSL connection, so if I go missing for a couple of days, you'll know where I am. I've done my best to fix the problem for the moment -- we'll see how long it lasts...
Given that you've been commenting in Gramarye's LJ, can I safely assume that your connection is behaving itself again?
I've been working on cover art for D&L--such fun! Here (http://espressoferrets.com/Sannali/maud) are my sketches--or at any rate, rather crummy digital photographs of them, manipulated in my graphics program to look marginally legible. But they will give you the general idea of what I have in mind. Hopefully the colour will turn out as I am imagining it as nicely as the lineart turned out the way I imagined it. I will upload nice high-quality scans (with the same added text as in the photos) when I get back to my scanner in the fall.
The resemblance between Maud in my drawings and Maud in your current icon is purely and completely the product of your wonderful descriptions. Maud has always looked this way in my brain, long before I ever saw your current icon *grin*.
The Weasley twins (how could I do a set of D&L illustrations and not include at least one image containing them?) will be curly-haired and blue-eyed because that is the way they always have been and always will be in my mind until JKR says something in canon to squash the possibility. I hope you don't mind too much *grin*.
As long as I'm here, and because I like to get these sorts of details correct:
What colour are Margot's eyes? I remember that Albion has his mother's fair hair and his father's dark eyes, and Malcolm has his father's dark hair and his mother's green eyes, and that Margot has her father's dark hair, but I don't remember what colour her eyes are, and I want to get it right.
Does Malcolm wear glasses, or not? I've given him glasses in the sketch because they heighten his resemblance to Harry Potter (as noted in your story about the Snape children), but if he doesn't wear them, I ought to take them out before I colour the picture.

Oh wow. Oh WOW. You did all those for my stories? *is rendered incoherent*
Seriously, those are amazing. The blocking is perfect (especially in the library scene -- exactly as I imagined it!), the poses -- excuse me while I wibble.
*wibbles*
I can't wait to see the final versions!
What colour are Margot's eyes?
Black. Just Like Daddy's. Only colder. (Which is no mean feat.)
Does Malcolm wear glasses, or not?
No, he doesn't, actually. It's the rumpled black hair and boyish appearance that reminds everyone of Harry... it's a good thing he didn't need glasses as well, or Snape would have thrown him out of the house .
And the Weasley twins have blue eyes in my mental universe (http://www.sugarquill.net/viewa.php?artid=270) too, so no problem there. Curly hair is optional, but by no means objectionable, either...!
Presents for you!
