[livejournal.com profile] jenlynb, who knows whereof she speaks, has written an absolutely splendid post about why YA books are awesome, and why having a YA category in the bookstore is useful and worthwhile regardless of what age you are as a reader. I heartily agree.

Though I'd extend that to MG too, of course (says the woman who is currently in the middle of reading Starcross, and still giggling over Philip Reeve's description of the planet "Abnegation, which was woven out of brown string by Presbyterians").

Ooh, is that perchance a sequel to the awesome Larklight? If so, I know what I will be buying as soon as I don't have a financial crisis to deal with....

It is the sequel! I bought it during my visit to the UK, where everything comes out in paperback first so I don't have to spend $26 just to find out what happens next, oh joy.

Incidentally, icon love! (I wish Peter Davison had played Peter Wimsey in his younger days - that could be Wimsey... I am still tyring to work out the premise for a fic in which Peter runs into Five and complications ensue.)
