...though in retrospect, it fits in with everything else I know about Bell Sympatico, so I shouldn't be surprised.
Since changing to another service provider, I no longer have access to my webspace. Now, I know you are all saying "Duh, of course not," but you see, I was using the webspace of a friend who is with Sympatico and kindly gave me his unused space to use for myself. I just assumed that I could go on logging in with that information and update the site from anywhere, but apparently... not so much. If your IP address isn't with Sympatico, you can't get FTP access to their server even with a valid username and password.
Okay, so those who know how long it has been since I updated either Mystic Wild Parabola or The Beekeeper's Holmes Page are snickering behind their hands right now, but the fact is, I actually did want to do some updating there soon. Plus, the web page with the MIDI files for our choir to learn their various parts is also on that server... and I definitely will be needing to add to that page soon.
So now I guess I'll be looking for some webspace, since my otherwise splendid ISP does not seem to provide any with its high speed accounts. Which is probably why they were cheaper than All Those Other Guys, but still, that strikes me as just a little too cheap, you know?
Sigh.
