Oh, my word. A tourist bus? The Underground? And they've only confirmed two casualties as yet, when you know there are bound to be far, far more than that?

For all the Londoners on my f-list and elsewhere on LJ -- for all the citizens of London and the tourists visiting there, whoever and wherever you are -- I am praying right now. I remember visiting London, ten years ago. I remember loving it. I can't imagine the horror of seeing it ripped apart by bombs.

There are more than two fatalities, they just don't want to spread panic.

I'm in London Bridge, and all the ambulances go past this office. There's been a lot of them.

I was following your conversation with [livejournal.com profile] kateorman. I'm so glad you're safe, can't imagine how awful this must be. Keep us posted.

Will do. Of course when you're in the thick of it, you start getting terribly practical. I'm more worried about how the hell I'm going to get home, now...

Yeah, when the city's shut down and the transport system's in chaos... hopefully some order can be restored within a few hours.

We have to wonder, when, where and to what end, does this violence start proving something other than it proves nothing?

Where do we go from here, World War 3? And who else has to die?

And, of course, it's easier still when you can go to another country and kill other people's children. *rubs forehead* Man.

"And the unvolunteered sacrifice goes unnoticed
Like a plague set upon by bombs
Until we're left alone; just you, and me
With the remenants of World War Three."

Here's to the next generation, and the hope they can do something we weren't able to.

Thankyou -- I've mainly been able to check the people I know are OK, but it's still pretty grim here right now

Not a tourist bus - just a regular no 30 being used by people carrying on with the ordinary daily lives.

Not that that makes it any better...

Of course it doesn't make it any better. It just means that it's not tourists who are being specifically targeted.

Londoners lived through all the IRA bombings in the 70s, 80s and 90s we and will get through this too.

Quite so -- didn't mean to seem surly, just trying to affirm for the record that I don't think bombing visitors to London is worse than bombing Londoners. I was afraid I'd accidentally come across that way ("Oh, well, as long as it wasn't tourists...").
