Oh, looky! Right after I tell you I've drifted away from the fandom, I see that Kalan's new video* is out! So here it is (WMV, 6 meg) for those interested. Don't ever say I don't do you no favours.

It's a pretty cool video, better than last time I think -- pity I still don't like the song. And if they changed it any from the CD version (which they supposedly did, going back into the studio to re-record the vocal tracks and instrumentation and everything), I can't really tell the difference. Oh, well.

Next album, please!

Well ... It's better than the Single video, though that's not hard, but it's not a very good video. *sighs* Kalan looks scared for most of it, and the hair touching is so overdone. I was so hopeful when I read it was a straighforward performance video, too.

I guess I'm the opposite, then. ISOIA is my guilty pleasure (oh, screw that. The entire fandom is my guilty pleasure) but I don't think the video suits it at all. This pseudo emo rock would have suited After All better.

And why does he looks so terrified? someone on the TWoP boards mentioned that it's almost like watching the scene in Butterfly Effect where they force the kids to make amateur porn. Ick. The sexy look just isn't really working for him (actually, it probably is. Lord knows that 98% of the KP4GUs thread is fawning over the video.)

So in conclusion: Kalan/"Harv"? learn to make better videos, please.

That icon is a thing of beauty and a joy forever. I'm especially fond of the green tile.

I agree, he does look terrified. Stunned, actually. Not to mention junked out on opium, since they gave him that eyes-like-black-tunnels look. And the hair touching seemed more self-conscious than alluring if you ask me.

But it's still better than "Single", which starts out with Kalan chewing the cud and just goes downhill from there performance-wise (except for the mirror-punches at the end, which actually do look like he's angry. Maybe he was finally letting out his frustration after 18 hours of shooting the stupid video).

And you're right that the video doesn't suit the song.

I love it too, although I'm guilty of being quite fond of one of the new shots from the video. Sigh. Even all junked out and depressed, he's pretty.

Stunned might be a good word. It's funny that people are suggesting that the video reflects the real Kalan - mean his sex appeal - when it looks like he's being held at gun point and petrified. The hair is far too long now. He's starting to remind me of the archetypal classical musician; eccentric and a little bit crazy, too.

It's better than Single, yes. But it's still no masterpiece...mind you, his fans with unconditional love for him will adore it, and it'll probably bring more OMGEEEE fans in.

Seriously, I need to either get on his marketing team or become a director. There are so many things that need to change about him before people are going to buy it.
