'Cause I liked the Fourth Doctor and I thought his scarves were cool and all that, but you know, somewhere there's got to be a limit.

Bonus points if you can get through the page without clawing out your eyeballs (what was the guy thinking when he chose that background?).

And on a pretty much unrelated note, Steve Burns (former host of Blue's Clues) is my new musical hero. I'd buy his album, if he had one yet. Get on it, Steve!

What do you think of the fandom these days (Dr. Who, I mean). The last time I was on the newsgroup, they were completely tearing apart anyone that liked Sylvester McCoy's Doctor. It must go in cycles, or something.

Yep, it does. Give them a few months and they'll be tearing apart anybody that liked Jon Pertwee's Doctor.

DW is still a very male-dominated fandom, it seems -- even in creative terms, which is unusual seeing as most fanfic is written by women. Hanging around in online Who fandom can be both fascinating and infuriating. There are only so many threads arguing Dalek chronology a sane human being can be expected to take, for instance. :)

As for the novels, I've read a few of the BBC Books, and quite liked a few of them, but the last thing I bought was Lance Parkin's Father Time and I wasn't really impressed with it... since then I understand they've blown up Gallifrey, wiped the Doctor's memory and done all manner of of other wild and radical things I'm not sure I can get my head around. I'm all for dynamic change, but not throwing the whole backstory out the window...

Eee! I don't think I'll even attempt to read any of the BBC novels then, thank you very much. So...my Dr. Who continuity stops with "The Dying Days"...I can live with that...

Besides, there's so much more interesting stuff I can imagine up in my head...;-)
