Just finished watching this week's episode.

Am in a state of complete and utter emotional devastation. Tears, heaving sobs, the works.

And it's not because of the shock of Boone's death, either. I already knew that he would die, not only because it would have been ridiculous for him to live after he got so munched up in that plane last week, but because I accidentally read an LJ comment today that implied it.

But GAH, the writers are evil. They just wrung that whole thing out for every last drop of emotion and I totally got suckered in.

Just... Boone... and Jack... and the baby... and...

*sobs more*

Dear Avenging!Jack: Please do not kill my poor woobie Locke. He didn't mean it, honest.

Have headache. Must go to bed now.

I thought the episode was really well done. Considering the ghosts that have appeared on the island and the flashback sequences, Ian Somerhalder might not be completely out of work. I was impressed with how the writers forced the characters to come together in a crises. When Kate asked Sawyer for alcohol, her tone of voice told him this is serious, and Sawyer opened up his stock without asking anything in return. Jin was forced to use Sun as a translator in order to communicate about Claire's labor. He didn't look happy being put into that position, but he saw the greater good and swallowed his pride. With regards to Jack's marriage, to quote Hurley, "Didn't see that one coming." I hope we learn what happened to him and his wife in the future. So many questions, so few answers. It's like watching Babylon 5. :)

I too thought this episode was very well done. Although I'm about ready to kill JJAbrams for not letting us know whether Jack is still married--that line from Boone about "I know you made a promise; I'm letting you off the hook" (besides being a fantastic moment for the characters), seemed to devestate Jack and I want to know why!

And any episode that has such realism surrounding a birth (I haven't given birth but I have watched one of my siblings being born) makes me very happy. Kudos to all the actors in that storyline, particularly Evangeline Lilly and Emilie de Ravin. Not only was Baby adorable, but he did that little thumb-sucking thing where he's too young to actually make a fist and instead spreads his fingers all across his face.

I didn't cry...but I blame that on the show creators. I used up all my desperate sobbing when they faked us out about Charlie way back when. *blushes*

Dear Avenging!Jack: Please do not kill my poor woobie Locke. He didn't mean it, honest.

I agree Locke didn't mean it, and I hope Jack doesn't actually manage to lynch the guy, but I guess I can see how it might look bad.

*eagerly awaits next episode*

Someone that you want to hug and squeeze and call George, basically. Which of course is utterly ludicrous when applied to Locke, but that was kind of the point. I <3 <3 <3 him anyway. :)

I like Locke, but I don't actually want to hug him. As for calling him "George", well...

I like your Locke icon. :)

Not Lost related, but I thought you'd like to know someone's posting caps of the new Dr. Who show on [livejournal.com profile] cap_it. I don't watch the show myself (hardly catch anything on TV!) but I immediately thought of you when I saw it.

Thanks! I didn't know about that -- appreciate the tip!

Aw man ...

I finally saw it, knew it was going to happen because our sister-in-law spilled the beans on Sunday ... but yes, I blubbered anyway. It was just way, way too well done. I am amazed at how the writers keep peeling back the layers of each character without (so far) contradicting what has gone before. I am only terrified that, as with X-Files and Alias, there IS no master plan, and that at some point they will have written themselves into a corner they can't get out of. But episodes like this one leave me hoping for the best and realizing how much there actually is to play with in each of the backstories.
