I could do that with my story "Box of Rain", but they're all about the Grateful Dead song...that's what happens when you write a songfic, yo?

I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for writing "Touching Indigo". Why? Because it was the first fic of yours that I ever read. Then I read the rest, and devoured your webpage, which is how I found out about Laurie King...which is how I found out about your Harry Potter fics...which encouraged me to read Harry Potter...then I *really* read your fics and then found out about Erica Smith...which encouraged me to read the Vorkosigan books...of which I just finished the first. Which is AWESOME!

So...ahem...thanks for great reading since 1998.

And now I'm beginning my own fic. It's a happy thing.

You have a Flower Fairies icon! How cool is that? I love those books. My original fantasy novel was sort of obliquely inspired by them as well.

Anyway, wow on your comments. I had no idea that one little story of mine had warped your reading tastes so significantly! I'm glad you're enjoying all those books, though. :) And yes, Bujold is terrific. I'm re-reading Komarr right now.

Actually, 'skewed' isn't the word I'd use...more like 'revived'. I was so stressed, and I wasn't reading *anything* at the time. So 'revived' my interest in reading. A lot. And it's great!
