Cyan. Well, I suppose it could be worse...

For those following the saga of my injured tooth via [livejournal.com profile] rjanderson_blog, it has now got to the point where drinking or eating anything, even at lukewarm temperature, is painful. I have gone from being petrified by the thought that I might have to have a root canal, to thinking that 9:30 on Wednesday morning is not. soon. enough. It's kind of like being nine months pregnant -- by then you're so uncomfortable you just don't care what it takes or what happens afterward, you just want the kid outta there.

*brewing "Pain Be Gone" potion just for you*

I did that little name test, and "Logospilgrim" came up black. Should I be surprised? ;-)

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I loathe going to the dentist... Luckily, I haven't had a cavity in years. Do let us know what transpires from your stay in the chair.

I've had two root canals (payback for years of neglect) & can offer tow bits of advice:
A. Painkillers. Tell the dentist you want LOTS. Even if you have a high pain tolerance, they just make things soooo much better.
B. When it's done, it's done--no afterpain as in extractions.
Wishing your tooth & poor N's foot rapid recoveries--
Naomi

Yes, but I have you in a nice pine green in my Flist! :)

What about using a straw? I remember the oddest thing about mouth muscles -- I've got a tonne of fillings, just bad dental luck more than anything, it seems. After dental work, before the anesthetic had worn off, I couldn't drink normally... but I could use a straw. This should get the liquid past the sensitive spot, for one, and something to use for after.

I did use a straw, the last day or so. It definitely helped. Thanks for the tip.

And now I don't have to! Yay!

That stinks. I hope you feel better soon, and I hope all goes well at the dentist's. *hugs*

Am praying for you, but I'm sure you'll be fine. How is Simon's leg?

You know, you can do < and > symbols by using "<" and ">" in your HTML...

Keeping you and Simon in my prayers!
