Oh, Lily is very much there -- because Snape loved her (thus explaining why that chapter in OotP is called "Snape's Worst Memory" -- not because of his humiliation at James's hands, which must have happened a thousand times, but because his intemperate "Mudblood" outburst marked the end of his secret friendship with Lily). Which is why he could never forgive himself when he inadvertently caused her death, and also why he was prepared to swear his life to protect her son. (I think he really hoped that Harry would remind him favorably of Lily, but the combination of James's face and Lily's eyes was a torture more exquisite than he could ever have envisioned.)
