As a regular listener of CBC Radio, I've been noticing a marked anti-Israel bias in their reportage for some time now. I'm glad somebody's calling them on it, though I doubt it'll make any difference. It's far too fashionable to regard Israel as the brutal oppressor denying Palestinian Arabs their deserved nationhood, refusing to give them a place to live. What about the surrounding Arab states who refuse to take in the Palestinian Arab refugees, and who were primarily responsible for them losing their homes and land in the first place?
I am by no means saying that I support every military and political action taken by Israel, recently or in the past. But I do believe that Israel as a nation has a right to exist, and that they also have a right to defend themselves against those who would try to destroy them. And the hypocrisy of the media and the U.N. where Israel is concerned never ceases to amaze me.
And that is probably the only political rant you'll ever see on this blog. :)
