RJA fic! *hearts* You've just made my evening. So many lovely touches... 'Earwigs', Houseism being outlawed, the implication that Hermione did change the way house-elves are treated... (And let me add that the concept of house-elves in love is disturbingly cute.) Your characterization is great, as always. Harry has a definite edge to him, and Hermione is careful and thoughtful, but at the same time completely ready to take any action that seems necessary. Snape's weariness and pragmatism shows through as well. Winding up in a cellar printing the Quibbler? He just doesn't catch a break, does he? ;)
"Unless, of course, you have been tracking me all this time, as a sort of personal hobby?"
*still laughing* Brilliant. Luna's response here is perfect. I love your Luna dialogue throughout. She's the only character (besides Dumbledore, of course) who can reduce Snape to playing the straight-man.
"Could you have said no to Dumbledore? Did you ever?"
Spot-on. That's a definite conversation-stopper. I've always liked your treatment of Dumbledore's significance.
