Behold Teh Cuteness! Paul Nathan at 11 days old
Your mileage may vary on the cuteness, actually, but he is (as I suspected) much improved from the squashed purple look he had at birth. So:

One of these days I'll try to catch him with his eyes open. They're brown, like his father's -- a novelty since his older two brothers' eyes are grey-blue with yellow rings around the pupil (like mine) and ice blue (like his grandfathers' on both sides).

Pretty baby, screen colors aside.

Baby pictures (babies of any species, really, but I'm partial to humans) are possibly the single best use of Internet bandwidth ever.

Is it just the lack of scale to compare, RJ, or is he as long as skinny as it seems in the first picture?

It's probably just the angle, but he's got a terrifyingly mature expression in the second photo, a bit like Hamlet wishing that his too too solid flesh would melt.

Newborn jaundice aside, his hair seems very dark compared with the other boys', but astonishingly beautiful.
Incidentally, he looks like a Churchill.

(Probably the best thing I've heard in a while.)
So, as a nurse who works with babies all day every day, I feel like I'm entitled to a somewhat professional opinion.
He is absolutely beautiful.

Of course, Nicholas and Simon could turn up with somewhat darker hair in the end, too, if their hair does that blond-to-brownish thing as they grow up.

(Anonymous) 2005-09-20 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)and sleeping is a very good thing.
Now that my baby is 11, I find myself squeeing over babies--not that I want another of my own, but grandbabies might be nice.
In 15 years or so.
Love all the hair. Both mine were little cueballs.

Seeing these pictures makes me want another new little niece or nephew, even though I got three in just the last year or so. *sigh* I think I will go visit my newest niece this week. Yes, that's what I'll do.
