The phrase is "stodgy, misogynistic prude". I think an opposition to birth control in all forms can be described as "stodgy prude" by the publication date of *THS*. And the discussion of women's roles, which I did explicitly allude to, is misogynistic. Women are acceptable in THS only as virgins and mothers.
