I'd like to say that's true, except that I've spent enough time in Doctor Who fandom, even recently, to know that a fandom can be 40 years old and still be a hotbed of insanity. Check the forums at Outpost Gallifrey (http://www.gallifreyone.com/), for instance, and I know kateorman and jblum have no end of stories from the Usenet and mailing list trenches. :)
