Unfortunately Kalan's first CD is going to be a rush job, and he's already despairing that they'll let him have any input into it (though he said he's got a couple of songs written that he hopes they might use, and that he's going to try to see if they'll let him play some violin/viola/piano/guitar and/or bass on it). They're trying to push the CD out for Christmas, to capitalize on the post-CI enthusiasm. I am hoping this doesn't mean a whole album of canned hash, but I'm afraid it might. Sigh.
If you go to the Red Hot Topic page I linked at the beginning, you can check out his performance of "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe. Very courageous thing to do on the final performance show, if you ask me. Especially since he made no attempt to sing it in an "entertaining" manner.
