SWIFT Cover and Release Date - Revealed!

I was not expecting to be able to share this with you until September, but my lovely editor Sarah has given the go-ahead. So here, without further ado, is the UK cover for Swift:

SWIFT UK Cover

Doesn't Ivy look gorgeous? The cover artist is a talented American illustrator named Rory Kurtz, and I absolutely love his style. I'm so delighted with the way this cover turned out and I hope you love it too!

And yes, it will be shiny like all my other UK book covers. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the foil looks with the beautiful turquoise background.

As for the release date... if all goes as planned (D.V.), Swift will be coming out in the UK on March 1, 2012.

Questions? Thoughts? Leave them in comments!

And yes, it will be shiny like all my other UK book covers.

If you hadn't said that, I totally would have asked. I love my shiny shiny RJ Anderson books. (: And now excuse me, I need to go party, because there are only seven months left! SEVEN MONTHS! (Which is actually an excruciatingly long wait. WANT. D:)

Oh, it's GORGEOUS!!! I love the contrast of her dark hair on all the blue. And is she in armor? That's awesome!! (I soooo need to pick up the rest of your books. It has been a CRAZY summer for me--moving, settling, publishing another book--I've barely had time to think.)

Congratulations!!

Oh, hooray! I can't wait to read it! :)

Gorgeous cover!

Looks lovely! Looking forward to getting to read it - I loved the first three (and at some point am planning to post a substantial review on LJ to that effect). Also picked up Ultraviolet acouple of weeks back. Looking forward to reading that too.

Am I remembering wrong, or did you say that there's a fifth Faery book planned?

[identity profile] rj-anderson.livejournal.com 2011-07-27 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
You are quite right -- I have another faery book under contract, to be written when I've finished the sequel to ULTRAVIOLET, which is to be written when I've finished editing SWIFT! Just to make everything perfectly clear. :)

And I'm so glad you enjoyed the faery books!

Typed version of what I said earlier:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeee, I LOVE IT! ;)

I'll be on a plane in four days. I swear, this project is like living in a time warp!

[identity profile] rj-anderson.livejournal.com 2011-07-27 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
FOUR DAYS, WHAT.

How did that happen? Where did July go? Is this the real world? Is this just fantasy? *looks around in a daze*

Said it before, but it bears repeating:

SO VERY BEAUTIFUL! The metal! Her spunky face! Oh, those wings. ♥ ♥ ♥ The concept is brilliant (go you!), and the execution is superb.

Love it!

Beautiful! Blue's my favorite color, too, so it's extra appealing to me!

[identity profile] areth-lovejoy.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Love the new cover, but it look so different in colour from the first three....

[identity profile] rj-anderson.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
That's because it's a new series. Or a new sub-series, if you like. KNIFE, REBEL, ARROW form a trilogy; SWIFT is the start of something new. Not totally disconnected from the first three, or that there are no rewards for having read them, but written so that new readers can pick up SWIFT and not be confused.

[identity profile] areth-lovejoy.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Aha. Cool. Do you have a number of books settled upon yet for this series?

[identity profile] rj-anderson.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
At least two, possibly three. We'll see how it goes!

[identity profile] sannalim.livejournal.com 2011-08-03 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, how exciting! I love the UK covers for your books so much better than the NA ones. Perhaps I shall just have to order them off of Amazon.uk, or something. Also, I should reprimand my local bookstore for not carrying your books, seeing as how I'm currently in Halifax and you are a Canadian author!

[identity profile] caitie80.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow! I love the way the bird's wings are incorporated as the fairy's wings <3 Can't wait to read it!

Swift for US readers

Just curious I LOVE your faery books but what about your US readers? Will you release Swift in the US?

Re: Swift for US readers

I would love to, but that decision is not up to me at present... as soon as I have any news about a US edition, I'll gladly share it!
