Shiny shiny la la la la la

I am up to my neck in Arrow revisions, but I just had to share --

I just got the printed cover proof for the UK edition of Ultraviolet, and when I pulled it out of the envelope my squee was so high-pitched it could only be heard by dogs.

I can't wait to show it to all of you, and I hope that soon I'll be able to do so. But really, no online image can do justice to its silvery foil-covered loveliness.

*hugs self with glee*

Oooh, I can't wait to see it! I've been getting all your UK editions for the Brian Froud cover art, and it sounds like I may need to continue for UV too!

They've all been lovely so far, so I am not surprised.

Oooh! I am so glad you like the cover:) Sounds like one great read, so it needs a fittingly lovely cover.

I'm not sure if people have ever asked you this before but you mention Rhosmari, (which you said previously to be the main character of Arrow) in Rebel. Is it to introduce the character's personality before the actual book?

You found her! Well done!

And yes. I prefer to mention my main characters before they appear if at all possible -- just as Linden is mentioned in KNIFE even though she's still a baby at that point, so we have Rhosmari (and another important character in ARROW as well) cropping up briefly in REBEL.

But I didn't really know much about Rhosmari when I gave her that one line to say, and I have to admit she turned out quite different (and much more interesting) than she appears to be in that short scene...

That's why I thought I shouls ask after I remembered Linden being in Knife. The first time I read it, I thought it was a bit odd that you mentioned a character with a name and description that seemed without purpose. Then I just finished re-reading and found her on page 230 and wondered if this was the case. Well different is always good and so is intresting.
