The Horns of Simon

This morning my four-year-old son and I were watching [livejournal.com profile] lizbee's latest Old Skool Doctor Who vid, which celebrates the dubious charms of "The Horns of Nimon" (with bonus pants-ripping action!). Simon is a sensitive little soul and easily frightened by monsters as a rule, but as soon as he saw his first Nimon he fell in love. "I like that guy!" he chirped. "I'm him! Mommy, can I have some paper and a pen?"

A couple of minutes later he proudly presented this, his very first piece of fanart:

As I said in the comments of Liz's post, I think this proves that the Nimon pretty much fail at scariness.

OH.

OH! That is by and far the best thing I have seen all year. Simon for the win!

Me: "You've inspired that!"
Liz: "I know. *preens*"

That is the greatest work of art since my kid sister's "Miffi and the Rani".

LOL! Thanks for the link to [livejournal.com profile] lizbee's video and give my kudos to Simon. :)

Nimon Drawing

I can't decide if they look more like cockroaches or like balls of yarn (although neither of those usually wear huge shoes).

But for a four-year-old, this is a rather impressive drawing.
