Frabjousness, and the Naming of Bunnies

[livejournal.com profile] lydaclunas is coming to visit me next Wednesday! All the way from Deep In The Heart Of, where the Yellow Roses bloom! And we're going to watch S2 Who together and squee like fangirls! Yay!

In other news, we now have a bunny, in addition to our two guinea pigs. The guinea pigs are called Boo and Strawberry, but the bunny is nameless. My children are uninspired, and the neighbourhood children are even more uninspired ("Brownie?" The bunny is grey, people.) Therefore I will take a poll.

[Poll #784016]

And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] martoufmarty, who is making all my new icons these days.

ETA: The bunny is a boy, by the way.

What's wrong with Donald Duck? Or Finn mac Cool? Or Sherlock Holmes?

[identity profile] greenwoodside.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww - I had a rabbit called Hazel. But since this bunny isn't brown, Blueberry is probably a better choice.

General Woundwort

*chortles* How about Bigwig, if we're doing Watership Down? Or Blackberry? :)

If bunny is gray, what about Gandalf?

[identity profile] neotoma.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose Peter or Benjamin don't suit?

How about Max? Or Emmet?

Bilbo is good but I was sorely tempted by BabyPaul's suggestion!!

[identity profile] lydaclunas.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
We really need a picture of the bunny to suggest good names. Though I think Blueberry is kind of cute, what with the preexisting Strawberry (you could call it Blue for short, and if you add a few of hamsters named Cherry, Peaches, and Whipped Cream, you'd have a nice fruit salad).

Is it a girl or a boy? The name selection leaves it kind of ambiguous.

Oh and YAY for fangirl squee!

[identity profile] jcobleigh.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I would be in favor of Dandelion.

Firstly I want it recorded that Strawberry is a brilliant name for a Guinea Pig.

I'm biased towards Bilbo, mainly because that's what my cat is called.

Is it a little boy bunny or a little girl bunny?

Paul's name is my #2 choice! :)

I think I would be a little terrified of naming a rabbit 'General Woundwart', myself. ^_^

how about "boot to the head"

[identity profile] lydaclunas.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. You know, I glanced at the poll before I read the entry, and when I saw "Name That Bunny" my first thought was that she was seeking titles for a fic.

General Woundwart? *snort* It's better than what we're calling the 2 week old kittens at the moment (frick and frack).

Blueberry goes with Strawberry!

Either that, or something poetic like Moonshadow (since he's grey).

Shadowfax?

Well, given the two guinea pig names you've already got... you could either continue the Narnia-talking-beast theme with "Reepicheep"... or else you could continue the To Kill a Mockingbird theme with "Scout." :-)

(Or, if you insist on an actual rabbit name, there is always this one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hodge-Podge)....)
