I just found out something about the Narnia film I hadn't realized before:

When the White Witch rides into battle at the end, you know all that golden fur she's wearing, as in this icon from my previous post?

It's Aslan's mane.

I can't believe I didn't notice that, but now that miladygrey has pointed it out, I'm totally blown away. It's just another of those clever but subtle little touches that makes the movie extra-nifty, in my view.

Anyway, I am not likely to be online for the next little while, so in case I don't get to say it before the date, a very merry Christmas to all who are celebrating it.

I loved that touch. It's not just the mane - her helmet is a stylized lion's head, and at the corners of her eyes by her nose, she has little touches of makeup where lions have small lines. It was, along with Lucy and Mr. Tumnus the part of the movie that gave me the biggest shivers.
