I'm sure some of it's enthusiasm for the sake of the audience, but it sounds kind of like the new guy might hang around a while. ;) (Maybe I'm just a sucker for an actor who gets into something with "I've always been a fan!" -- even if I'm not really one, given that I've never seen an episode and the sum of my Dr. Who knowledge is derived mainly from you and his sort-of guest appearance in High Wizardry.)

Well, the most important thing about the fandom is that he is never referred to as "Dr. Who", only as "Doctor Who" (in the fandom outside the show) or "the Doctor" (inside and outside the show). :) Doctor isn't a title, really. It's sort of his name.

Come on, you know he's at least 900 years old. It doesn't matter how old the actor is. I like how your 11th Doctor is an older gray-haired sort of guy. I'm not too big on William Hartnell though: he looked too frail.
