For the record...
And in response to a couple of appalled comments on my previous post, I never suggested Rowan Atkinson should play Snape. I just said that in this particular pic, Rowan Atkinson's hair looked like I think Snape's would if he took proper care of it. Not the same thing. :)
On the other hand, look at the sketch of Snape drawn by J.K. Rowling herself, and tell me that her version doesn't look a lot more like Atkinson than he does like Alan Rickman...?!

That is one of the biggest schnozzes I've ever seen. Almost Jimmy Durante-like. LOL

It's rather not fair she's never drawn Sirius for us... or told us what colour his eyes are.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could attribute that to half of Britain growing up on the show and wanting to be part of it (the other half either actually having worked on the show or watching it and not having sufficient imagination).

Of course, my mental Snape-image seems to reset to Roger Delgado (the original Master) whenever I'm reading the books. Must be the influence of the chapter illustrations.

Re:
If it was Blackadder I, in which he is a hideous buffoon and most of the comedy seems to be slapstick, I don't blame you. But some of the later ones -- I'm especially fond of Blackadder III, which is set during the Regency -- are enormously witty and clever. Mind you, they are also enormously rude in parts, alas, but that's typical of many British comedies, it seems...
