Just in case anybody else is having this problem...

Just in the last couple of days after upgrading to the latest version of Semagic, I’ve started getting "smart quotes" instead of the straight quotation marks when typing in the Editor window, which of course plays havoc with my HTML. After submitting a question to the development team, [livejournal.com profile] quirrc got back to me with the suggestion that I use Semagic’s Autoreplace function (under the Edit Menu) to fix the problem.

So I’ve told the program to replace all instances of smart quotes with straight quotes, and it seems to work now... or at least it works when I go to actually post, even if the smart quotes still show up as I’m typing.

Now if I could only figure out why Semagic won’t show me the names of the people in my Edit Friends window... but [livejournal.com profile] quirrc and I are still working on that one.

...that the new version of the Semagic LJ client has a bad, bad habit of sending your latest posts to the previous day if you don't remember to keep an eye on the "Update Time Automatically" box and make sure it's checked every time you post?

I keep getting alerts from my Friends list and then finding that the page looks exactly the same as it did the last time I checked -- I'm starting to wonder if a lot of you are having similar troubles with Semagic.

Grrr.
My brother sent me this link this morning -- a lot of you are gonna love this:

Trek Wars

Just don't blame me if you waste all day playing it. I showed great restraint, and played only one round (which Picard won, naturally).

In other news, the new version of the Semagic LJ client is a beautiful, beautiful thang. So far, anyway.
