@stephenfry (yes, that Stephen Fry) posted this link on Twitter and now I am speechless with horror, so you must share my pain:

This is Why You're Fat.

No kidding. And I thought the bacon cheese roll recipe my brother e-mailed me a couple of days ago was scary.

(Although the Mega Stuffed Oreo is, admittedly, pretty awesome.)
I am thirty-eight years old, with a fairly diverse experience of national and ethnic cuisine and a love of fine restaurants and quality home cooking.

So why does Kraft Dinner still taste so good?

I know it is ridiculous to imagine that Kraft Spirals taste better than regular Kraft Dinner, but part of me still believes that they do.

Oh, Marble Slab Creamery, where have you been all my life?

I had Double Dark Chocolate in a Dark Chocolate waffle cone, for the record. My sons had Birthday Cake with gummi bears in one and M&M's in the other, and my husband had vanilla with Oreo cookie bits in a Skor waffle cone.

Mmmmmmmmmm. *eyes roll back in head*

I have died, after all. Of ecstasy. Because [livejournal.com profile] sannalim's home-made cinnamon rolls just arrived by FedEx, and I have just taken my first bite.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I am about a million miles out of the Zone right now. I would have to eat, like, a whole cow to get back in it. But you know what? I. don't. care. Because these rolls are absolutely amazing. My only hope right now is to find a lot of friends who love cinnamon rolls to come and save me from myself before I eat the whole dozen.

Thank you so much, [livejournal.com profile] sannalim. I've got your address off the box, and your GAME t-shirt will be in the mail shortly.

Did I say yum? YUM.

Friday Five

And, somewhat belated, last week's Friday Five:

1. Where are you right now? At my computer (duh), which is located in our spare bedroom / home office; my two-year-old son is sitting on the desk next to the monitor, and we're listening to Al Stewart's "Song on the Radio".

2. What have you lost recently? Nicholas's water bottle (not a baby bottle, but one of those square plastic Rubbermaid drink boxes with the hard plastic straws). We have two of the things and we still seem to misplace them all the time.

3. What was the first CD you ever purchased? Does that embarrass you now? It'd be far more embarrassing to ask me what the first cassette I ever purchased was (Men at Work's first album, FTR -- horribly pedestrian of me, but it could have been a lot worse, I suppose). As for the first CD... it was, I believe, a collection of Bach cello sonatas as performed by Yo Yo Ma. Not exactly cringeworthy, is it?

4. What is your favorite kind of writing pen? I'd far rather have my fingers on a keyboard, but I do like the feel of a nice calligraphy pen.

5. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Well, there was this amazing Nestle Parlour flavour called "Chocolate Madness" that had chocolate ice cream with bits of chocolate fudge, chocolate chips, chocolate brownies and chocolate syrup in it. However, they stopped making it about a year ago. And I've been looking in vain for something comparable ever since.
